Our new single and video, ‘Thinkin’ and Drinkin’ filmed by AK Romero, recorded by Justin Armstrong at Studio X and Electrokitty Studio in Seattle, WA. A bit of hard rock, classic rock, some soul and just a touch of country make this crunchy groove of a tune hit so hard and feel so good. Enjoy!
We’re happy to announce the release of our newest single Thinkin’ and Drinkin’!! It’s a thumper! Music was recorded by producer Justin Armstrong and the video is by AK Romero. We’re stoked to be sharing this awesome video with the world on November 6th. Mark your calendars!
Also, we’ve finally signed up on Instagram so follow us @colossalboss
See you all very soon!
Ted Norris, guitarist extraordinaire, and his wife Liz welcomed into the world their beautiful baby boy Declan! At 6 pounds, 5 ounces, he is a mighty little warrior! Congratulations to them and welcome to the world little buddy!! We can't wait to get you rockin'!
We are wrapping up our new recording this month and we can't wait to share what we've made with you all! Below is one of our original tunes 'Thinkin' Drinkin' that we wrote and performed acoustically. (Steven on harp and vox, Ted on guitar) We're hoping to have a CD release party late summer. In the meantime, we have a few big shows coming up, including another return to the badlands where we will be rocking The Buffalo Chip in Sturgis, SD for the annual motorcycle rally. We will see you all soon!
Still banging away at our new recording! It's sounding big! (We like big) Rock and roll is alive and well in Seattle!! thank you Justin Armstrong and Elecktrokitty Studios.
Steven here...just wanted to introduce the newest member of the Colossal family, Adeline. She was born on Feb 19th at 4am. What an amazing gift. We look forward to introducing her to rock and roll!
We are still chugging along with our newest recording and we hope to have that out this spring. Life is good!
Studio X is just amazing and we have had an absolute blast recording our new music here. Thank you Justin and Reed!
All three days of tracking went great! We were able to get 6 songs recorded and we even had enough time left over to enjoy a few brews. (Or two) This experience has been amazing. Sharing these walls with the legends of the past has been an honor and we know that the rock gods will be pleased with the tunes we put together on this collection of songs. The gear we used:
Ted, guitars: Paul Reed Smith guitar through an Orange AD30 combo amp
Fraser, bass: Fender Jazz Bass through a Fender Vintage Bassman
Cory, drums: A big ass fucking Ludwig
Steven, vocals, harmonica: Fender Deluxe Combo Amp, and a bunch of microphones
Local producer, Justin Armstrong produced all the tracks. A lot of fun was had and a lot of beer was consumed. Git to WORK!
Straight forward, no gimmicks rock n' roll! We have a few more things to record and then we will set this music free into the world!
Recorded a little over a year ago, 'No Man's Slave' was our first video for our debut EP. It was an absolute blast to film and we had a bunch of our friends make cameo appearances throughout. It's fun and rowdy, just like us! Thanks to filmmaker Kilii Fish and all of our friends who made this a fun shoot.
It's the story of the pizza man and how he just can't get a break. Everyone along the way messes with him in some way. Our drummer Cory used to deliver pizza and he'd always share his crazy stories with us at band practices. You just never know what's going to happen when they open the door.
The live version of 'No Man's Slave' below was filmed by our friend Mike Martin at The Tractor Tavern in Seattle, WA. It was our first time rocking the joint and we had a blast!
We love rocking live for the good people who just want to have a good time. Ain't nothing wrong with that right!?
We will be recording at Studio X in Seattle, this weekend. We hope to get a new video out soon that will go with our new music to all of you. We will keep you posted!
The night before thanksgiving for the last 8 years we've jammed with our good friends Lyle and Kris from Highway 9. We met while out at Sturgis in 2007 for the motorcycle rally. We had no idea we were from the same area! Small world! We've kept in touch since then and we've always played this fun little show at Mel's Old Village Pub in Lynnwood, WA. We jam and play a bunch of cover songs. It's a lose and very fun night. Lot's of hollerin' and swallerin'!! This year there will be a couple more acts coming out for the night. It's free, it's on bike night and it's a rowdy good time. Can't wait!
This unofficially is our last show for 2015. We look forward to the holidays and working on new material. We've had a blast this year playing a whole bunch of crazy shows and parties and meeting a ton of fun people out on the road. Can't wait for what 2016 has to offer us!
Rock and Roll!
NWCZ radio out of Tacoma, WA, was kind enough to invite us into the studio and let us jam on our tune, Long Way Down as well as play American Boy and No Man's Slave. We chatted with Darrell and his crew and had a fun time. Thanks Darrell for keeping local music alive! Hear the interview HERE
The lead off track from our debut EP, 'Long Way Down' acoustically performed by Steven on vocals and harmonica, Ted on guitar and Fraser as the bass player and background vocals.
